Early 19th century French Palais Royal type ormolu and mother-of-pearl musical sewing etui, the hinged cover and sides with foliate engraved mother of pearl panels and applied gilt glass domes inset with dried flowers, pierced ormolu gallery and embossed mounts, set on four acanthus and hoof feet, the velvet lined interior with 18ct gold and gold mounted utensils including thimble, pair of scissors, needle case, spike, cut glass scent bottle and bodkin mostly marked with Paris ram’s head hallmark, mother of pearl snowflake winders, two bobbins and floral embroidered pin cushion, with later two air musical movement beneath, L18cm, H9cm, D13cm Provenance: With a handwritten letter gifting the box to her niece and explaining some of it's history, dated 1908
